Two months after the Israelites left Egypt, they began to complain to Moses and Aaron about their hunger. So, God spoke to Moses and promised that He would send the Israelites food. He would be their provider. That evening, God sent quail to the camp to provide the Israelites with meat. The next morning, the Israelites discovered fine flakes on the ground. They named the flakes manna, and each person could gather as much as they needed. Read more about manna in Exodus 16:31. Talk about ways God has provided for your family. Then discuss the questions on the back of this week’s Family Card. You can also check out more family resources for this week at Explore the Bible: At Home.

2nd and third graders enjoy reading aloud from their Bibles. We also used a 2 quart measure to pretend to gather manna in the wilderness. Our lesson led us to Christ who is the true Bread of Life. All scripture points to Jesus Christ.
