Dear Parents/Guardians,
The book of Obadiah contains a message for the nation of Edom. Edom was descended from Esau. Edom had been unkind to the Israelites on multiple occasions. As Obadiah noted, their arrogance caused them to be deceived. They thought that no one could bring them down. But as the proverb warns, pride comes before destruction. God would punish Edom for their sins against Judah and against Him. God’s people would be delivered from their enemy, Edom. Read Obadiah 1:3-4.
