Dear Parents/Guardians,
This week we started the book of Judges. It introduces us to the history of Israel after Joshua’s death. Sadly, the Israelites quickly fell into a cycle of sin. Israel abandoned God and worshiped false gods. The Lord allowed an enemy to capture or oppress Israel. After some time, the Israelites would cry out to God for deliverance and God would send a judge to rescue the people. After some time of peace, Israel would start the cycle again by worshiping false gods. Remind family members that we also need a deliverer, One without sin. Read 1 Peter 3:18 and 2 Corinthians 5:20-21. You can also check out more family resources for this week at Explore the Bible: At Home.

Students in the 1st/2nd grade class had a great discussion of the gospel! We made note cards of verses to look up this week and I hope you take time as a family to read and discuss them.
Working on looking up verses today! Here’s a song for Colossians 1:16-17
