Dear Parents/Guardians,

Here is an overview of what the children learned today: Jesus and the disciples tried to go away to a remote location to rest a while by climbing into a boat. But the crowd saw them leaving and ran ahead to meet Jesus. Jesus saw the large crowd of people and had compassion on them. He saw their suffering and acted. The Bible records that the people were like sheep without a shepherd. So, Jesus began to teach the people to fill their spiritual needs. Late in the day, the disciples came to Jesus and advised that He send the people to buy themselves food. When Jesus prompted the disciples to feed the people, they responded with their eyes on their earthly limitations. Read Mark 6:41-42. Then discuss the questions on the back of this week’s Family Card. You can also check out more family resources for this week at Explore the Bible: At Home.
